It's amazing how where you really affect how you look at yourself. People who grew up in more conservative places with slightly more liberal behaviors definitely felt like they were the quirkiest people in the room. But then those people will arrive in a new place, like New York, and realize everyone is quirky af. But this doesn't mean you're not special of course, you definitely still overcame something, plus it's always nicer to feel a part of something, rather than be made out to feel embarrassed for expressing who you are.
This boy wanted to express himself by wearing painted nails to a family wedding, and his mother, the supportive queen that she is, let him go through with getting his nails done. But many of her family members, specifically his father, very much did not approve. Is this old-fashioned thinking? Obviously. But does still it suck to feel isolated? Yep.
